New Dental Technology = Higher Level of Care
The latest technological developments in dentistry allow us to provide even better care for our patients. Treatments and diagnostics are more effective than ever before. We’re excited to provide you with the best care possible.
Cavity Detection
Discovering cavities used to be very straightforward. A visual exam, aided by a dental instrument, could locate some soft or demineralized tooth structure. Tiny pits that allow bacteria under the enamel were all but undetectable. We use the SpectraTM quantitative fluorescence caries detection aid and the accompanying software. Using light of a very specific wavelength reveals bacteria, that our computer software renders visible to us. In addition, we use transillumination. Cavity detection in the very early stages makes treatment more comfortable and is less likely to weaken the tooth structure and many times allows us to use lasers to provide this conservative treatment.
Digital X-Rays
Digital dental x-rays use a fraction of the radiation used by traditional x-rays. The technology provides us with clear images of tooth structure and the surrounding bone. These images can be saved and viewed on the computer. Our cone beam computed tomography (3D imaging) provides a clear image of your entire mouth and jaw. The comprehensive clarity of these images allows us to view detail we were unable to see before!
Intraoral Cameras
If you’ve ever wanted to see what the dentist was talking about when describing your oral health, you’ll be pleased to see images taken by our intraoral cameras. These small cameras can be inserted into the mouth without discomfort, allowing you to view exactly what Dr. Marz is seeing—you’ll just be seeing it on a monitor. Dr. Marz routinely uses these images in his consultations to help patients understand their dental health issues.

Lasers have revolutionized dental treatment from cavities to gum procedures. Our
