Time for Your Checkup
Preventive Care
In addition to your at-home tooth brushing and flossing regimen, routine professional cleanings and comprehensive examinations are an important part of your oral health maintenance. Your routine care includes a thorough cleaning, including removal of tartar. We will do a complete visual exam, checking your teeth, tongue, and gums, as well as completing an oral cancer screening. Imaging may be a part of your visit, using our digital x-ray system, cavity detection system, and/or intraoral camera.
Root Canal Therapy
The pulp of the tooth contains nerves and blood vessels. If the pulp is damaged or decay has introduced infection, root canal therapy may be necessary. During root canal therapy, the infected nerve is removed, the area is cleaned, and the tooth filled. In many cases, a crown is placed over the tooth to strengthen it.
Dental Implants
In the event of tooth loss, a permanent replacement can be frequently be created with the use of dental implants. A dental implant is placed into the jawbone and becomes fused in place over time. Once fused, the implant provides the structural foundation for a crown or permanent bridge that allows you to eat the kind of foods you want.
Sleep Apnea
Snoring may not be just an aggravating sound. In some cases, snoring indicates sleep apnea, a problem in which the airway becomes blocked and breathing stops for short periods of time. These apneic periods can become dangerous if sleep apnea goes on undiagnosed and untreated. If you believe you have sleep apnea, talk to us. We can refer you to a sleep specialist to evaluate your breathing and determine whether you would benefit from an oral appliance or other dental procedure dedicated to keeping your airway open.
Sealants
Protect your child’s teeth! Back teeth have grooves and depressions that can be difficult to clean thoroughly with a toothbrush. At Premier Dental Wellness, we may recommend using a sealant, a thin coating brushed on the surfaces of those teeth, to keep debris from settling in the depressions and causing decay. Sealants protect against many cavities for years!
Fluoride Varnishes
Highly concentrated forms of Fluoride applied to the tooth’s surface and stays in contact with the tooth for several hours. It has been shown to reduce cavity-causing bacteria over ten fold. It also adds an extra measure to a sealants ability to reduce cavities.
